ARGUS TV 2.3 Released

Post by dot-i » Sat Dec 27, 2014 10:38 pm

The 2.3 release of ARGUS TV has had some significant internal rework and comes with the following changes:
  • Too many internal changes to even begin to sum them up ;)
  • Notifier: now always connects over https and will show balloons even when you are remotely connected.
  • Scheduler: will use Wake-On-LAN on Recorders if they are on a different machine.
  • Scheduler: enhanced CalculateUpcomingRecordings to better handle the case of a recorder being disconnected.
  • Scheduler: console will now auto-refresh live streams, active recordings and upcoming programs.
  • Recorder: a DiSEqC command that fails to be sent after tuning will be resent now when the graph has entered running state (this fixes certain BlackGold and Pinnacle cards).
  • MediaPortal: added support for 1.7.x, 1.8, 1.9 and 1.10 FINAL
  • Updated Scheduler, Recorder and installer icon to a more "modern" look.
  • Updated Ultidev WebServer Pro to 1.0.0.20

Any big changed since rc2.3? Why should I install 2.3 instead of staying with rc2.3?

I've got these errors already sometime in rc2.3

If these are solved in 2.3 final please let me know ;)

Am I reading this right, that MS SQL server is no longer required to run Argus TV?

ARGUS TV has supported MySQL as database since the first version actually, so MS SQL Server is indeed not required.

Give it a try with MP 1.10 and please report back, can't say for sure since MP support has been updated in 2.3.

Ok thanks I'll give it a go. Hopefully the glitches in recordings also end and the fact I can't watch live tv directly. Only starting a recording and watching that directly works now with rc2.3 and mepo 1.9.0.0.0.0.0.0.0

Congratulations on the new release dot-i.

I have hit a few small problems on upgrade of a 2.2.1 installation, but will put them in the bug reports section.

Thanks for all your efforts :D

Great news! Been looking forward to this for a long time. Thanks to everybody for their efforts, especially dot-i.

I have a few questions on upgrading but will ask in appropriate forum.

I have been using Argus TV with MySQL, however I'd like to switch to SQLLite since I expect less config to be required over time. How do I do that?
During installation I select "Manually configure advanced ..." and when I get to the Database selection, I can choose between SQL Server (Windows Authentication), SQL Server and MySQL - but not SQLLite.

SQLite is only used by the Recorder, the main Scheduler component only supports MySQL and MS SQL.
