Failed Installation: Not Connected to Core Services

Post by manny » Thu Nov 26, 2015 11:43 pm

I tried to perform a regular installation on a Win7x64 machine with all the default settings as in the instruction pdf.

1) I first installed MS SQL 2014
2) I already had .NET Framework 4.5.2 installed
3) I opened Argus TV 2.3.exe downloaded from this site, and did a Server/Client install with all the defaults
4) On the SQL window during install, I left the default Windows Authentication, and successfully tested the connection
5) After install, I opened the Scheduler & was able to connect
6) Under "Recorders" was "Argus" with URL "http://localhost:49953/ArgusTV/Recorder" and priority "0"
7) Ping test returns "Server successfully connected to Argus"
8) When I open the Recorder Console and attempt to connect, I get the window: "One or more errors occurred."
9) Going back to Scheduler>Recorders, clicking "Test Shares" returns the window "Server failed to connect to Argus"

In addition to that the Notifier in the tray says "Error. Not Connected to Core Services." And when I right click on the notifier icon, the program hangs.

I do know that my TV tuner works since I have previously used it with Windows Media Center.

I would be very grateful for any advice on how to fix the problem.

If you cannot connect to the core servcies, maybe they are not running.

I changed my Argus services in the Windows Settings to auto restart.

Thank you for that suggestion, but I did turn on the services, and still had the same error.

Did you ever find a solution for this?
