I haven't worked on this lately, but I got some free time now. (Done watching game of thrones :)

I'll have a look at RemotePotato. However I had the streaming part figured out and working. I paused the development at integrating it with argus.

I'll look at it again.

X-cimo could you explain how you handled the transcoding?
For a media browser plugin they also run into transcoding issues.

For transcoding I was relying on VLc for transcoding and writing to a path accessible with the webserver.

Basically: my addon would intercept certain requests. Handle the rest api to start the stream from argus. Then launch VLC to transcode the client would then use the files being created.

My thing was relying on ISAPI IIS filter but since argus is moving cross platform that no longer the right way.

I think transcoding should be performed by the argus server itself.
