Web Schedule creator - "Does not contain"

Post by Diffuse » Mon Aug 19, 2013 8:50 am

First up, I'm a big fan of Argus TV and its 4TheRecord predecessor. They and mediaportal have revolutionised the way I watch TV. Thanks to all for your hard work delivering these quality products.

Now, to my improvement suggestion. I think it's easier if I giver an example of what I'm chasing. My example deals with a motorsport program, but I expect it will have wider uses/ramifications if included.

I like watching MotoGP motorbike races. But only the main event, not the support races. The way my FTA channel provides them is broken up into separate shows in the Guide, though they all run back to back. Here are the show titles.

Motor Sport: MotoGP(2013 - Race 11: Czech Republic - Moto2)
Motor Sport: MotoGP(2013 - Race 11: Czech Republic)
Motor Sport: MotoGP(2013 - Race 11: Czech Republic - Moto3)

I have Title = "Motor Sport: MotoGP", which catches all of these. But I only want the middle one.
So, I'd like the second drop-down - Episode Title - to have one further option. Currently it has:
Episode title equals
Episode title contains
Episode title starts with

I'd like a fourth
Episode title does not contain

I imagine such logic could come in handy in all the drop-downs.
I notice the channel drop-down already provides for this scenario.

You can use the NOT operator.

Episode title contains: NOT Moto2 NOT Moto3.
ARGUS TV + Recorder, 4 x FloppyDTV DVB-C, Smargo Smartreader Plus, MDAPI Plus, ACamd, OSCam, Win7 x64.

I'd forgotten about that :D

IIRC, you can also use the OR, AND operators.
You can fix it, or you can fix it until it's broken. I usually choose the latter.

So you can. Just tried it and it works. Nice. Thanks for pointing that out.

While we're discussing the minutiae of scheduling, is there a way to give one channel recording priority if the same show is being aired on two channels at once? For some reason, Australia's Ten Network sometimes airs F1 coverage on Ten, sometimes on its ONE HD sibling, sometimes on both. All depends on what other sporting events are happening at the same time.

(Also, this discussion should probably be moved to a different section.)

I'm beyond my experience here, but.
You might be able to create a pair of schedules (one for each channel) with the "Episodes Once" option, then give the prefered one a higher priority.

It would probably only work if the description and title were identical though.
