I'm sorry to hear that :-( I presume you've got this posted on other places such as the green button (or whatever MS did to it)?

I'm still very keen to try this, assuming you decide to carry on developing it.

Hi Fred! Any news on THIS?

@Kay: can you look at the number of downloads? That'll probably give us additional information...

MadeForMediaCenter = 113

Project Site Downloads

but with this number can you not really say if each have it download once or more than once
what i can say is that x64 builds are more frequented as x86

Once, a long time ago, I was a big fan of Windows MediaCenter.

But the with the recent versions of Windows it became more and more clear that WMC is going to be phased out by Microsoft. With Windows 8, MediaCenter was only made available after many complaints and it is an extra feature that you have to pay for now! Although you can still claim a free key till January 31st 2013. Just go here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/wind ... ture-packs.

(I did this for my two new Windows 8 machines and got 1 key, still waiting for the second....)

Anyway, seeing where this was going I decided to switch. And after many experiments I choose XBMC because of its incredible re-sync speed when jumping forward/backward through video files.

Of course, then I needed support for the PVR. And the rest, as they say, is history :)

Cheers,
Fred

Ah cool, thanks Kay, I'll try that too. But since both new machines have their individual Windows 8 product keys I was expecting MS to send me separate keys.

The wife and kids have a brand new HP Envy Touchsmart 23. But I'm playing with my super-cool Samsung ATIV Smart PC Pro (http://www.samsung.com/global/ativ/ativ_pc_pro.html). In these times of financial crisis one does what he can to support the economy :lol:

I really, really like my Samsung. It is a solid workhorse with its I5 Windows 8 Pro x64 and 128 GB SSD. And when not doing something useful, I just remove the keyboard a go surfing/reading/viewing on the couch.

Of course this is going to cost me time again. I've been looking into Windows 8 App Store development and how to create an ARGUS TV app :)
