Well Fred, I have one word for you.... JACKPOT!!!!!

This version starts quickly (1-2 seconds)on every try and I have yet to get a 'no-buffer' message! And switching between tuner types (Colossus & HD HomeRun) works great as well.

Here's the debug log: http://www.dotnetdevelopers.net/XBMC/logs/fredtest3.zip

Thanks again for all your hard work! It is much apprecitated...

FYI, I have posted the new builds on my binaries page if anyone else would like to test.

Hi Red, sorry for the delay, took me a while to get a new build environment set up.

So far this new build is even better than the first. Starts up quick, tunes quick. I can stop a channel, start a new one, etc and so far no dreaded "no buffer found" message.

There is one slightly weird problem: I cannot seem to change more than two channels in a row. i.e. I start a channel, change while it's playing, change again, then it will stop and go back to the guide screen. I can start another one no problem after that.

I can reproduce this 100% of the time so I wonder if it's a specific error? I'm using two Colossus tuner cards with the MePo TV server as the backend. This doesn't happen in the Argus MePo client - it's specific to XBMC.

Here's the debug log: http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=26874

Thanks again for all this. It's already much better than it was.

Any chance to get a version compatible with Raspbmc? Well, I suppose I could wait until the fix makes to the official build, but I'm that impatient! :D

The 32 bit build should work. It works with OpenElec on the PI, which is what you should be using because it's much faster in general than Raspbmc.

I just tried with a fresh install of OpenElec 3.0.5 and as soon as hit "Enable", I get a message about an "unknown error. Add-on could not be loaded"

Hey Planetix,
I have tried to reproduce this on my OpenElec 3.0.3 clients (with the June 10th build from my binaries page) and I cannot reproduce it. I have changed channels up to 10 times without issue. I am running a very similar backend, two Colossus tuners but also with a dual tuner HD HomeRun, running on MePo (1.3) & ArgusTV (2.1). The server is running Windows 8...

Can you reproduce this on multiple clients?

Yeah, on an Intel NUC and an AMD AD10 client.

Could be just me, though I recently rebuilt my TV server from scratch. Maybe it's some weird codec thing - who are your providers/boxes?

I have three clients, one I recently updated from XBMCBuntu to Windows 8 (to make it a dual purpose box), and the other two run OpenElec 3.0.3. I tried upgrading to 3.0.5 but the channel start/change times were in the 5-7 second range, so I reverted back to 3.0.3.

All three clients are Zotac, one Mag and the other two are Zbox's. Essentially all three run the Intel Atom processor with Nvidia ION. I forget the model numbers and I am at work right now. If you would like to know the model numbers I will get them for you.

My cable provider is Time Warner Cable, I'm not sure the Box model numbers but they are the standard HD box's (no DVR) they issue in the Raleigh/Cary NC area.

I'm having a issue with this new build. On both my clients after a while (10-30) minutes playback of live tv just stops and XBMC start buffering. But it doesn't buffer, it just stops after failing to buffer.

Both clients are win7, running marcel special 12.2 build with fast zapping.

Any suggestions?

seems to be issue related to timeshift buffer, I think it might be happening when creating the 4th buffer file, I changed to 2 files, but now it just exit playing after a while, not trying to buffer at all.
