PVR deactivites

Post by Klayer » Wed Feb 13, 2013 11:20 pm

I am running XBMC Frodo and windows 7.
when starting XBMC in case the Argus TV Server is not avaible (it is not hosted on the client machine) the PVR addon deactivates and I have to active repeatingly.

Any idea?

I believe that is an XBMC behavior and not specific to the ArgusTV plugin. I guess the simple fix is to leave the ArgusTV service running all the time (which is kind of necessary for ArgusTV to work anyway).

I have already a change for that uploaded to Team XBMC. Now it will just issue a toast, notifying the user that ARGUS TV can not be reached, and remain enabled. Sadly this change was just too late for the Final Frodo release. But the next update by Team XBMC will have this incorporated.

It is, indeed, annoying that it gets disabled, although I must confess my ARGUS TV is never ever down :D

Super. This fast reaction is really good!!

Hopefully the Frodo next version does not take to long.
From your statement I am assuming that there will not be an automatic update of the plugin within the existing Frodo version and also no manual update outside the Frodo update cycle is possible.

Would it be possible to receive the updated PVR client outside the Frodo Update path?
I am afraid the Frodo Update will take some time.

User wileecoyote is keeping a list of addon builds on his webpage here: http://www.dotnetdevelopers.net/XBMC/xbmcpvr.html. You can try one of those perhaps.

Thanks for the hint.
I have tried the lastest version 1.6.164 but it shows the same behavior and deactivates if the server is not available. Too bad.

Yes, the version you want is 1.6.165 (or newer)

ok. But where can I get it?
Using the link above only provides access to the .164 version.

You'll need to build it, and XBMC, from source. .165 only works with the latest PVR API, which is post-Frodo.
