Argus - XBMC fail - maybe Beta12 issue!!
Argus - XBMC fail - maybe Beta12 issue!!
Hi,
I have just completed a complete reinstall of XBMC and moved upto Beta 12, however I am now getting issues when trying to use the live tv on XBMC (version 13.1 - margo edition).
Logs : http://pastebin.com/b4zxZV1K
I am not sure if this is XBMC issues or argus beta edition!
FYI I have two xbmc installs (different PC's) one connecting to DVBLink - working fine and a laptop with clean XBMC install and connection to argus.
Any help would be great.
Phil

It says it can't get 'stat' on the tsbuffer file on your share, so chances are very high this is a permissions thing...

Hi Phil
Looks as if your xbmc client/user doesn´t have access to your BLAH-PC timeshift directory or share (around line 217). Are the credentials set up properly?
Here no prob with b12/xbmc

Again working here...if your xbmc is on an RPI or Linux platform be aware they are both demanding on credentials and are very much case sensitive!Christoph21x wrote:Hi Phil

Re: Argus - XBMC fail - maybe Beta12 issue!!
Hi All,
Thanks for the replies, there was indeed an error in how I had written the username - s in place of d - now that I have corrected that I am still getting the buffer error (channel starts loading but then gets stuck on buffering - does not show a picture / sound)
the new logs show slightly different messages now :
http://pastebin.com/ezdJwyFu
I have gone through my full list of usernames and passwords on XBMC to ensure they are all correct - fyi I can go into the videos / recordedtv and play back something from there - and can see the TimeShift folder as well.
Does XBMC Argus plugin need to be set a certain way? I have tried both Blank and the same username password I use for the XBMC connections.
Cheers for your help
Phil

Re: Argus - XBMC fail - maybe Beta12 issue!!
FYI I have checked what happens on windows and I can see the following:
XBMC "connects" to channel
This causes the .tsbuffer and other files to appear in the TimeShift folder
I can't play these files from my laptop however...
I wonder if it is something todo with permissions on my windows server machine?
Cheers Phil
EDIT - I can confirm that the security on the windows server machine is working as expected. the user that I use for security across the network has full read/write access to the files and folders.
I even tried to see if the username was case sensitive (i.e. XxxxXxxx) and it made no difference (I restart XBMC between each check)

Your xbmc is running under which OS? Live TV on Android for example, isn´t working. Is it different from the xbmc client which is working correctly?

Hi, sorry should have mentioned that
Got Argus running on windows 7
Xbmc is on windows 8.1 (both 64bit sources)
Cheers

Re: Argus - XBMC fail - maybe Beta12 issue!!
Hiya,
Looks like I fixed it
Argus appears to now link to BLAH-PC where as I normally map to xxx.xxx.x.xxx
Therefore within Argus recorder I have set the saved path as Xxx.xxx.x.xxx\TimeShift and it now works..
however tv changes are very slow
not sure if that is normal on Gotham .1 using margo changes?

I am using mc2xml with schedules direct. It does not have the format of s00e00. I know this works for the TV section but does it still work for the recordings page.
