BGT3620 Issue?

Post by Chris_Porter » Thu Mar 07, 2013 11:43 pm

I've recently purchased a PCI-e BGT3620 and installed it on my HP Proliant Microserver.

The server is running Microsoft Home Server 2011 and it appears that the installation was a complete success.

I updated to the latest drivers (8.1.1.2) using the installation instructions on the Black Gold website and the card even appears on the Device Manager list (see attachment).

However, the Argus TV software does not appear to be able to detect the card despite several changes made to software settngs.

Anyone encountered this problem before or has any suggestions?

Have you rebooted the system or restarted the Recorder Service since the install?

Is there any other software that might be trying to use the card? (MediaPortal etc)
You can fix it, or you can fix it until it's broken. I usually choose the latter.

Server: WHS 2011. Hauppauge HVR 2200. Avermedia A835. ArgusTV Server. EPG Collector.
Clients: Win7 64bit. MediaPortal. ArgusTV Client. StreamedMP.

Does Windows Home Server even contain BDA drivers? And does the card use BDA drivers? They are needed for ARGUS TV to find the card.

Vaguely recall this coming up before, wasn't it related to the Argus startup delay? The card initialised too slowly if I remember rightly. As mentioned, try restarting all the Argus services at least a minute *AFTER* *BOOT* (from Task Manager, or Services) and see if it detects it then.

If it does there's a setting somewhere to make Argus wait a while before initing cards.

More precisely: ARGUS TV Recorder Console > Settings > Delay init after resume.
