recordings cause TV to stop despite free tuners

I've just set up a new Windows 7 PC to replace my failing old XP box. I have a BlackGold card with 1 DVBT2 and 1 DVBS tuner. and a TBS card with 2 DVBS tuners. I also have a HD-PVR connected for the Sky-only channels.

the issue I have is that it keeps stopping live TV when a recording starts. looking at the logs its a bit odd because it says it fails due to no signal. it then stops my live stream (despite there being 4 tuners in total) and then it starts recording on the tuner it initially fails on. Then I can restart the live stream and it all works fine.

I'm using Argus v2.2 server with XMBC on a remote PC. I didn't have this issue on the old XP PC.

Normally, recordings use tuners from the top down, and live streams use them from the bottom up.

To provide a clear picture of the problem, can you confirm that when you start a live stream it uses the bottom most suitable tuner and a recording chooses the top most suitable tuner.

Yes, that's exactly what it does.

What I have done since creating this thread is to swap the tuners around so now Tuner 1, 2 and 3 are DVB-S and tuner 4 is DVB-T. Previously the DVB-T tuner was tuner 1. All are HD.

This seems be be working better although you will see from my other threads that i still have some issues.
