Looks like the wrong TvPlugin.dll is still being loaded.

had the same issue, after update 2 clients (1x W7 and 1x W8)
for me it seems to be an issue within mepo update.
the tvplugin.dll was replaced with dummy, have double checked.

I got it only working, after deinstall mepo (backup configfiles first) and make a new clean install.

I updated MediaPortal and it works fine... Odd
You can fix it, or you can fix it until it's broken. I usually choose the latter.

Server: WHS 2011. Hauppauge HVR 2200. Avermedia A835. ArgusTV Server. EPG Collector.
Clients: Win7 64bit. MediaPortal. ArgusTV Client. StreamedMP.

The dummy TVPlugin.dll is there, so I don't know why it is still trying to load the MP TV Service. I really don't want to have to run a fresh install.

I just tried a fresh install of MP1.4 with the Argus client and I get the same problem. I then uninstalled MP1.4 and restored my backup of MP1.3 and all is good again.

I've had no issues with 1.4.

A couple of things to confirm:

- Are you installing MP 1.4 and THEN installing Argus 2.1?

- Are you then copying the Argus beta files to the correct location? If you're using Windows 32 bit, you need to copy the 'program files (x86)' files to just 'program files'.

With the upgrade process I had a working version of MP1.3 with Argus 2.1. I the upgraded to MP1.4. I then reinstalled Argus 2.1 and then copied the MP1.4 Argus files over. They are going in the right folder because I confirm the files get replaced.
With fresh install process I did a complete full uninstall. Then I installed MP1.4, then Argus 2.1. I the copied the MP1.4 Argus files. I am on a 64 bit so the files go in the (x86) folder. I even compared the dates of the files to make sure they were the same. The files are all good and I cannot see anything wrong.

I have know idea what I am doing differently to anybody else.

The way you describe it, it sounds like you're installing this perfectly. I'm puzzled as to why it doesn't work for you while it works for others...

Could it be that this only works on machines that have TV Server itself also installed? Anyone?
