upcoming recording schedule

Post by keneo » Tue Oct 29, 2013 9:12 am

I am trying to figure out which table stores the upcoming recordings schedule. If I want to remove a channel from the line-up, I would like to also prevent Argus from recording any shows that may have been scheduled on that channel prior to its removal. But Channel Visible=off does not accomplish that. Deleting all the guide info for that channel also does not do it. And I cannot seem to find a table that stores the upcoming schedule. The "Schedule" table appears to store the generalized definition of the schedule itself, but that doesn't explain why Argus still tries to record a program in the absence of any guide info, or any table info that I can find.

I am not a programmer, but I have been hacking my way through mod'ing my Argus/MediaPortal system for 3 years and it has become quite sophisticated for vb/vbs/batch. I know manipulating the database directly is discouraged, but since I have already been doing that for three years it would really be so much easier than learning an API for C++.

I cannot keep stressing this enough: please use the REST api, never ever look at the database directly, let alone make changes in it.

There simply is no table for the upcoming recordings actually ;) The list is managed internally in the Scheduler and only available through the API.

You don't need to know about C++ to use a REST api, it can be used from many many languages -- including "scripting" languages.

I have the same issue - please post any pointers.

Issue is caused by duplicate channels here.

Thanks,

dh.

Another thing is depending on how you get your EPG.
- If you use XMLTV-import, then you can easily disable the channel (setting visible off), like you did. But you ALSO have to set the related EPG in scheduler console --> Channels to ¨(empty)¨
- If you use DVB-EPG you should also delete the DVB-EPG cache in recorder console resp. MediaPortal TV Server config.
