SchdulesDirect to undergo some changes

Sounds like the current API will not be available much longer for SD guide data.

It is being replaced by a newer, better one... but that leaves us in Argus land without a tool to update guide data.

On the plus side, it looks like Season/Episode information will be available directly... no longer need to "enrich" the guide data... long overdue.

I did a search but didn't notice any topics related to this. Is the orginal author of the guide importer plugin still around? Is anyone interested in tackling this?

I would normally just do it, but I'm travelling so much with work now, that I'm not sure I'll be able to.

I'd be interested in helping out if need be, the lack of a guide importer would seriously impact my cable cutter world.

I started a similar thread in the general discussions.

Seems as though we may have to wait until someone with the time and coding skills updates the importer out of the kindness of their hearts (i.e. unknown ETA).

I only know vb.net and have no time, otherwise I would attempt it.

I did a scan through the code this morning and I think we could implement a pretty simple fix to just get the service back and running.

Based on the info here: http://forums.schedulesdirect.org/viewt ... f=3&t=2614

I think the fix is as simple as changing the following line in xtvdWebService.cs in the ArgusTV.GuideImporter.SchedulesDirect project:

Code: Select all

Change:
            this.Url = "http://webservices.schedulesdirect.tmsdatadirect.com/schedulesdirect/tvlistings/x" +
                "tvdService";

To:

            this.Url = "http://dd.schedulesdirect.org/schedulesdirect/tvlistings/xtvdService";

I'll try to do this tonight when I'm at my build PC and see if it works.
