Episode history

Post by Saxtus » Tue Nov 10, 2015 7:18 pm

Hello!

When I click the "History" button of a schedule, I see a table full of episode IDs in the middle row, but no way to decode that to the actual season and episode numbers.
How is this calculated? Am I missing something?

I want to remove specific episodes from the history to allow them to be re-recorded when channel broadcast them again because the original recording had problems.
Thanks in advance.

I don't fully understand what you are seeing. Can you post a screenshot?
When I look under the Episode column, I see the title of the Episode. It also shows the Season and episode.
I'm using Schedules Direct for my guide data.
Perhaps if you were using a guide importer that also contained season and episode information this would solve your problem?

Of course, here you go:

I am using a parser I've made myself, that fills in the season and episode numbers in the ARGUS SQL database fields SeriesNumber & EpisodeNumber accordingly, that are taken from the title and description of the DVB-T EPG program (at least they are substituted correctly on the recorded filenames by ARGUS TV using the appropriate tags).

I've attached what I'm seeing.
You could attempt to change your parser so the episode name looks similar to what I have.
There's another way your problem could be approached.
In Windows Media Center, if a show isn't recorded correctly, Windows Media Center will (apparently) put the episode in a list and will search for a repeat of the episode and record it.
An application could be written that would review recorded programs in the database (assuming the database has this information - I haven't had a chance to review the database structure yet) and see which programs didn't record correctly and set a schedule automatically to record the episode again if it is aired.
There would probably have to be some review of the scheduled recorded length and compare that to the actual start and finish time and then if it doesn't match, schedule the recording.
It would be a nice feature if we had this in Argus.

Thanks to your attachment, you helped me understand what I had to change to my parser (set the `EpisodeNumberDisplay` db field instead of letting it be NULL).
Now I can finally see episodes in human readable form at this column. Thank you so much!
