ARGUS TV is under attack! A cry for help?
Re: ARGUS TV is under attack! A cry for help?
If a change of name is what they are asking for, there is currently not much invested in the ArgusTV name (Around a year...) and most people coped easily with a switch from 4TheRecord.
Now I am not advocating this as sometimes it is the principle that is the issue, but if you want to avoid confrontation, just change the name.
I am not awate of what happened with the split that created ArgusTV, but could you do a deal to go back to calling it 4TheRecord? That didn't have any challenges and had been around for long enough to not worry anyway?
Or just hold a competition for new names on the forums!
The key hope from my perspective is getting the rest of the source base under an opensource license as I am sure that you have lots of people itching to help you make this great product even better!
Keep you the fantastic work, it is much appreciated.

...so, as stated in other posts...is this about the name, really?dot-i wrote: A French company is trying to claim similarity in a visual design and target audience.
Maybe my English is not that good but what is the claim about?...the Icon...name...both...what else?
Re: ARGUS TV is under attack! A cry for help?
It's about name, logo colour and design, and target audience.
The reality is, the BBC would have more of a claim on most of these factors. But if you don't defend a claim like this, you lose by default.

You can fix it, or you can fix it until it's broken. I usually choose the latter.

...so, AFAIU the tricky/dirty part what links all aspects of the claim together, is the definition of "target audience", then.
Could be anyone using the internet

I am really confused.
What exactly they ask to be changed? The target audience?
Does not make any sense...

Re: ARGUS TV is under attack! A cry for help?
no, but the target audience is linking/supporting the other parts of the claim.
It is a go-to-market point of view...whatever way/channel ArgusTV is using its name, logo colour and design for in order to address potential users/customers.

...maybe read this german article...google does a fairly great job on translating it.

...world upside down, I'd say.
