Argus will not start

Post by pauld » Wed Dec 26, 2012 6:32 pm

i have an error in ArgusTV that is not allowing me to start the service.

It could be related to this error

viewtopic.php?f=48&t=4085

Since the last problem I did a complete re-install of O.S. on WHS2011 with a new drive. The error happened the 1st time 2 weeks after upgrading from FTR to Argus & now I have a similar issue 2 weeks after my re-build. Not sure if this is a coincidence or not.

This time I can get into event viewer which shows the following error

Code: Select all

NHibernate.Exceptions.GenericADOException: could not execute query [ SELECT this_.ConfigurationId as Configur1_7_0_, this_.Version as Version7_0_, this_.Module as Module7_0_, this_.ConfigKey as ConfigKey7_0_, this_.Value as Value7_0_, this_.DefaultValue as DefaultV6_7_0_, this_.LastModifiedTime as LastModi7_7_0_ FROM Configuration this_ WHERE this_.Module = ? and this_.ConfigKey = ? ] Name:cp0 - Value:Messenger Name:cp1 - Value:MsnAccount [SQL: SELECT this_.ConfigurationId as Configur1_7_0_, this_.Version as Version7_0_, this_.Module as Module7_0_, this_.ConfigKey as ConfigKey7_0_, this_.Value as Value7_0_, this_.DefaultValue as DefaultV6_7_0_, this_.LastModifiedTime as LastModi7_7_0_ FROM Configuration this_ WHERE this_.Module = ? and this_.ConfigKey = ?] ---> System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Timeout expired. Does it mean anything to anybody. How can I get Argus to start again?

Thanks

Hi Paul,

looking at your log, it could be an issue like described in the Wiki FAQ under http://www.argus-tv.com/wiki/index.php? ... p_properly

Let us pls know if it helped.

Kind regards - Christoph

looks like I have a disk fault new disk and it has a fault. A defrag seems to have sorted it for now. Will have to image the disk & rebuild again.

nice

Hey Paul,

a defrag could exactly confirm the above: it may speed up the strartup of the system. Once it's fragmented again, it may re-occur. Keep the "delayed automatic start" in mind..
