[solved] Unable to start live streaming

Post by Christoph21x » Fri Dec 28, 2012 9:26 am

Hi all!

I need a bit of your support: since a couple of days, I can't get anymore live streaming to work - I get "unable to start live streaming".
See below the related log file entries.

From what I see:
- No Firewall issue
- Not yet re-installed, would like to know about the root cause, first
- I made no changes to configuration in these days

are the Share access authorization set to everyone?

otherwise you have a hardware problem (perhaps FireDTV not responsive)

Hi Kay! Thanks for replying.

Yes, they're fully accessible. Will do a chkdsk /f after the current recordings end (holiday season = children are the masters of Argus now :D .. hardest time of the year for Argus & the equipment).
By the way: I can record from all six cards - BUT what I also recognized: I suddenly miss recordings. It seems to be impossible to create more than one stream out of a mux.
And as ATV doesn't show up conflicts (of course), I miss the recordings that can (could) be created out of the same mux.
BTW: no CAM/CI needed here, that shouldn't be a cause

I'll answer in English, as I know, you understand EVERYTHING ;)
I'm sure ppl. don't mind if you go on in German.

Exactly, I'm puzzled, too.
My next steps will be:
- set CAMlimit to 1 to prevent wrong assignment (not a solution just error prevention)
- see if my signals are too weak or cables are broken(known issue for Digital Everywhere devices)
- as said before: chkdsk (maybe lost clusters or bad MFT set shares or cluster to read-only)
... but then... out of ideas.
I'm sure, it must be a simple thing...

Hey Kay - problem solved.

I ran chkdsk /f (and it found errors) and changed one cable with bad connection - BAD ME, I did both at the same step, so I won't ever know what it actually was.

I'll see this evening if multiple streams from one mux are working again (switching off one of the servers)

Streaming works again... thanks for jumping in!

Kind regards from Switzerland - Chris
