Getting started...

Post by nickds1 » Thu Aug 14, 2014 6:30 pm

Hi,

Bit new to this - I've just bought an Android-based XBMC (MiniX NEO X8-H) and want to add PVR capability... I'm fed up with Sky and don't want to even pay them the PVR license...

Is ArgusTV available for Android? If not, could someone let me know what my options are? I'd like to get a Freesat box and to be able to record that too...

Hope that the questions are not too basic.

Thanks

Nick

Argus gets installed on a windows PC and you install the Argus TV client on the XBMC and stream recordings and live TV from your PC.

... but, live TV with xbmc on Android devices (with Argus PVR) may not work. I never got it running on my Android tablet. *sigh*

A good place to ask if it does work is on XBMC's forum. I do not have XBMC on my phone so I can not confirm if it works.

Quick note XBMC is changing their name to kodi with the next version.

Hi,

I have successfully setup Argus TV on Windows Server 2012, and I have to say it works like a charm. I had been using TVHeadend as a server to my XBMC clients on Ubuntu Server, and I now much prefer Argus TV; great product.
