Oh yeah, I had the same problem and did a bug report: http://code.google.com/p/wifiremote/issues/detail?id=85
Didn't know it was already a known problem. For me, it was pretty clear that WiFiRemote caused this, because of the entry/entries in the error log at the time I started TV.
Always using the latest BETA/RC version (when available) in combination with MediaPortal and his TV Server.
