Always keep this page open in parallel: http://www.argus-tv.com/wiki/index.php? ... ml_entries

Then you'll see where the entries come from.

Code: Select all

<sat name="Optus C1/D3 (156.0E)" flags="0" position="1560">
flags = unused
position = positive (EAST) and degrees x 10

Code: Select all

   <transponder frequency="11720000" symbol_rate="29455000" polarization="0" fec_inner="7" system="1" modulation="2" />
frequency = given freq [kHz] x 1000
symbol rate = given symbol rate [kbaud] x 1000
polarization "H" = horizontal, see article
fec_inner = Rate 3/5, see article
system = DVB-S2 supporting transponder (see article)
modulation = 8-PSK, see article

N8 Dibden! Read you tomorrow...

Kind regards from Switzerland - Chris

i have generated the *.xml, however i have done something wrong with txt formatting i feel.

the satellites.xml will not display any items in the drop down in argustv backend.

i have tested the original *.xml, and it runs fine, have copied the txt from mine into orig and saved, and still no love.

windows 8 has an xml viewer, which also will not display any content for the offending *.xml.

i assume i need to convert my ansi dos txt into unicode, but i dont really know how?

pls fins attached link to my code.

kind regards,

is it a missing " in line 41?

system="1" modulation="2"/>
You can fix it, or you can fix it until it's broken. I usually choose the latter.

same in line 35, please.

Try adding a space in each of your lines before the />

Hey Dibden

Nice to hear this (the FIRST one, of course ;)

Do you get signals with other software packages like might be included with your DVB-S card?

indeed i do.

the software installed with the card shows % signal, but doesnt list the satellites in my hemisphere, and since its old card, good luck finding devs to support.

like i said, this is just to prove its possible, what i learn here should make the real deal easier

This might be a silly question, I've never used satellite cards.

Have you configured the satellites section in The Recorder console, and are the settings correct?
