I have had a bash at a Comskip article. It needs work, but I don't know enough to go any further. Feel free to correct it or add to it :)

Dear All -

hope, you're all still alive? ;)
We created a new article which gives an overview over the most recent Wiki changes.
If you make a major update of an existing article, or create a new one, please update this together with potentially the Site-Map: ... ki_Changes

Kind regards - Chris

50'000 views... and increasing

Dear All

I don't know if you noticed: on Saturday our Wiki guide has had the 50'000th view...
And we're winning each day - if I'm not mistaken - more than 400 views more the recent days...
(if you want to see more details, visit ... Statistics)

Thanks! That's GREAT.
I compared with some Wiki pages of wide-spread Multimedia apps... what's the best message: you really rarely end up with "dead pages" or "structure-only" pages on our Wiki, which is wide-spread among the others...

Added TAGS as a macro for our Wiki articles

Dear All

seeing the increasing number of visitors and recognizing that many of them come through search engines, I was "searching a bit around".
I could see that our articles are not found in every case if searched for "For The Record" and newer topics, e.g. XBMC Frodo PVR, etc.

So we introduced a new macro pair that'll "help" the search engines to find our articles better.

Macro pair: {{TAGS}} ... {{/TAGS}}
What you see: nothing, even not through selecting.
Description: Use this macro pair at the bottom of your article. It implements search tags for your article that are used by search engines as Google, Yahoo, etc.
Tags, that you should add (copy & paste) by default when using the macro pair (there IS the need to you to explicitly mention them): Argus "Argus-TV" ArgusTV ATV "A-TV" ForTheRecord 4TR "For The Record" Scheduler Recorder Console
If you want to tag expressions or words with a minus like "Argus-TV", use this between a pair of "". The separator between your tags should be a space character
Do NOT use macros within this block like {{{ATV}}}, as the search engines read the raw site data.
see ... _Templates

Try to cover also common spelling mistakes like "adress", "acces", "resources", etc.

Please update your articles for better search results (also for the expression "Fortherecords" and similar) - simply add it and extend it to article's content at the bottom of your page

Kind regards - Christoph

Help needed: RTSP / UNC streaming

Hi All

I just stumbled over this article: ... _Streaming

This seems to me not to be very helpful. Is there anyone wanting to edit and extend this article?
I have not enough knowledge...
From my point of view we should cover
- what is it used for (basics)
- UNC versus RTSP streaming
- How to switch to UNC

Anybody willing to help? You may edit or write and we edit...

Thanks in advance - Christoph
