I have Argus TV 2.3 installed on a separate Windows 8.1 server.
I then have 4 clients running MediaPortal with the Argus TV plug in.
I recently upgraded 2 of the clients from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and encountered a home network connection issue.
What happens is that it takes 3 or 4 minutes on first boot for the server share to be available by name (eg \\server)
I have been troubleshooting this for days now and can't fix it, but the workaround is to assign the server a static ip address,
And change all the network paths on the clients from \\server to \\192.168.1.1
This works for everything EXCEPT the Argus TV plug in, if I go to play a recorded TV file it remains unavailable for 3 or 4 minutes, even though I have changed the server name from \\server to \\192.168.1.1.
I did try changing the streaming method to RTSP, but that gives me stuttering audio.
Any ideas how I can get Argus to ignore the \\server name and just use the IP address?
Or is there anything else I can try to avoid the 3 to 4 minute wait?
Many thanks
lisa
