I used 7zip.I found I had to open 7zip first with run as administrator, then open the zip file from within 7zip.

Using 7-Zip worked, odd that winRAR did not.

Is there a way to get the {Affiliate} tag to work like in the guide importer that is supplied with Argus? I like to have the channel number, Callsign, and Affiliate like this

Code: Select all

18.1 KLJB Fox

Glad it worked.

Post 35 has sample data. There is no affiliate to use, unfortunately.

Oh, in that case, setup a scheduled task in windows... make the action in the task:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\ARGUS TV\Guide Importer\ArgusTV.GuideImporter.exe"

And the "Add arguments" option:

plugin=SchedulesDirectJSONService mode=quiet

Then pick a time each day for it to run... I run at 430AM, for example.

If I wanted a Command line to pop up while it ran is that possible? I like to see that things are running and making progress.

Well, there is the guideimporter.log that shows you what's happening. But you could try removing the mode=quiet clause and that should popup a command window I think

Installed v1.5 of the plugin on an ARGUS TV 2.3 (Scheduler) + MediaPortal 1.12 (TV Server + Frontend) installation. Seems to be working great so far... Created a daily task in Task Scheduler, and it ran as expected.

I did have to unzip the files using 7-Zip, opened as an Administrator, like others have mentioned in this thread. When I unzipped the files using the built-in compression tool in Windows 10, no plug-ins showed up in the dropdown.

After the first EPG grab, I also had to go through and reconfigure my channel lineup in ARGUS and the MediaPortal TV Server plugin. (Partly my fault -- When the JSON guide populated, duplicated appeared for each channel, and I deleted my old channels. I should've deleted the new duplicates in the ARGUS Scheduler Console, and then matched the old channels to the new X.XX channel guide data).

One small bug I noticed... If you download channel logos when in "{LogicalChannelNumber} {Callsign}" channel format, the filename has "{LogicalChannelNumber}" in place of each channel number.
