Well, yes. Anything is possible.gadgervais wrote:Is it possible to get this guide info xml file? Where do the guide importer save it?
The api uses JSON... That gets bound to an object... You could then bind the object to and XML string and save it.
The current implementation does not does any persistence. It merely makes the objects available for the main app to save the channels and guide data to Argus

Hello, thank you very much for this epg grabber.
In the UK the RadioTimes XMLTV feed is going to be switched off on 16th June, so myself, and probably a number of other UK users are looking for a new EPG provider.
The Schedules Direct JSON service is looking good, and this grabber is looking very user friendly - fantastic!
Is version 1.6 the latest version?
I have looked at the links to Github, but I can't figure out how to download and use those files.
And there is one piece of data missing from the SD JSON service, that is present in the RadioTimes XMLTV feed.
It is basically the z in season x episode y of z.
So with RT we Get (eg) Marcella Season 1 episode 3 of 8
But with SD JSON we get Marcella (S01E03).
Is there any way to add that extra bit of data in?
Many many thanks
lisa

Hi Lisa,
I can try to take a look.
I still haven't got around to making a pull request for the author so he can merge it into the main Argus download.... so, the latest is the last version in this thread.
Cheers.
Geoff

Re: SchedulesDirect JSON client
Marvellous, thank you!
I was trying to figure out how to automate the grabbing for every day at noon, using task scheduler,
But I kept getting some error messages,
Namely:
'The given key was not present in the dictionary'
and
'Plug in JSONService not found, check your configuration'
I ran the import a few more times manually, and checked that I had saved all the config properly,
That seemed to fix the first error, but not the second.
After a lot of experimentation I discovered that changing the plug in folder name from JSONService to SchedulesDirectJSONService,
Then adding these arguments to task scheduler, seemed to work!
"plugin=SchedulesDirectJSONService mode=quiet"

Re: SchedulesDirect JSON client
Another option from the Scheduled Task is to may be use a Service which polls every 24 hours at minimum.

Re: SchedulesDirect JSON client error message
hi
i've been using SchedulesDirect JSON client for the last couple of weeks and its been working as a scheduled task excellently.
today i noticed that the argus log had the following error message : the underlying connection was closed: an unexpected error occurred on a receive and checking that the end of an update.
a quick google of this brings up
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2172 ... n-a-receiv
Is this something I can fix or is it another problem
Thanks
Keith

fixed by doing a reboot
Re: SchedulesDirect JSON client
Hello.
Is this SD JSON grabber still supported at all? I am getting some gaps in my EPG, and looking at the GuideImporter log it is filled with errors relating to 'Object Reference not set to an instance of an object'. I attach the log, if there is any help or support available, I would be very appreciative.
Thanks!
EDIT: I can't attach the log, the forum is saying that the file extension is invalid for both .log and .txt
