Automatic schedule extension?

Post by bbqninja » Mon Feb 03, 2014 11:55 pm

I live in Australia, a DVB-T country that has extensive over the air guides (so I won't be using XMLTV).

Quite often sporting events/etc go over their alloted time, especially when there is a rain delay or the like. Our providers are very good at sending updated guide info OTA extending the "end" time of the current show.

Will argus use this data in realtime and extend a recording?

I can say that Topfield brand recorders DO do this, but that MythTV (what I currently run) does NOT do this.

Is the Aus EPG MHEG5? I thought it was (same as NZ), if so, ARGUS TV unfortunately cant collect it at this time. Although you may get now and next data like we can here.

Do recordings auto extend? I don't know, I do remember some discussion about it a while back but I cant remember the outcome.
You can fix it, or you can fix it until it's broken. I usually choose the latter.

Server: WHS 2011. Hauppauge HVR 2200. Avermedia A835. ArgusTV Server. EPG Collector.
Clients: Win7 64bit. MediaPortal. ArgusTV Client. StreamedMP.

It uses EIT, which works quite well in both mythtv and mediaportal. Are you saying I won't get any usable guide data from Argus?

EIT will be fine for ARGUS TV.
