'No signal' on return from sleep

Post by nmw01223 » Mon Oct 05, 2015 9:24 am

Not sure if this is an Argus problem, or a hardware/driver problem with the receiver, but I mention it here in case anyone knows of an answer.

Using Argus 2.3 under W7/32bit SP1. Kodi 15.0 front end - but that is probably irrelevant. Toshiba Satellite pro laptop, dual core, 2GHz, 4GB RAM, 250GB SSD.

Two USB tuners - PCTV 292e, and August DVB-T210. Both work, and both have latest drivers. 292e is top of card list in recorder console, T210 is second. Tuners are connected by an external powered USB hub.

Boot PC, and can record to either from the recorder console status page, and both appear to be doing EPG grabbing OK.

Put PC to sleep, and bring it back again. Now can only tune the 292e, the T210 says 'no signal'. The log shows:
2015-10-05 08:08:51.5830 [Info ][Graph]: Started card service for card #2 'Digital TV'
2015-10-05 08:08:51.5830 [Info ][Heartbeat]: Heartbeat thread started.

2015-10-05 08:09:04.2814 [Debug][Graph]: Stopping graph
I have tried different ordering for the cards, and all sorts of changes to the card timeout / tuning settings. Nothing makes any difference. Stopping and restarting services also have no effect.

If I unplug the card and plug it in again, worse - the message changes to 'fatal' and the log shows:

The only thing that gets this card going again is a reboot. Then it is all fine - until put into standby again.

This makes it effectively unuseable for recordings, as the PC is always started from standby for commonsense reasons. Any suggestions?

Couple of questions.
What happens if you have the 210 plugged directly into the laptop?
Have you tried any other software besides Argus TV?
What does Device Manager say about the runners after you resume from standby?

Thanks for your reply, to answer:
Plugged in directly - same.
Other s/w - yes, various, but I cannot say if the same effect occurs as I have no other currently installed.
Device manager says it is all running OK.

Difficult to say if it is a driver issue (August) or the way the driver is being used (Argus).

What happens if you after a resume from sleep do the following.

- stop argus services
- start argus services

Does it work after that?
Not the best option, but you could script that such a stop start is done after wake from sleep
