ArgusLED (was ForTheLED)
Have updated my ForTheLED program to use the new ArgusTV DLLs and have changed the name to ArgusLED.
Functionality remains the same as before. So for anyone interested but unfamiliar with it, the program monitors events from ArgusTV and can execute commands (e.g. to LEDsDriver) when:
1. status changes between recording and not recording.
2. free disc space changes between above or below 80% used.
ArgusLED works OK (for me) when run as a scheduled task on startup, and starts minimised so it doesn't get in the way.
Feedback welcomed.

Re: ArgusLED (was ForTheLED)
I don't use an recording led, but is this program really needed? It is possible in Argus scheduler console to configure to execute commands when a recording starts and stops.
Always using the latest BETA/RC version (when available) in combination with MediaPortal and his TV Server.

Re: ArgusLED (was ForTheLED)
Using processing commands isn't something I'd considered - quite possibly one can control a recording LED (not so sure about HDD nearly full LED) using this method, though I expect only on the machine running the 4TR server. I just wrote the application for fun really, to learn about the APIs - if no-one else needs it then that's fine by meDragy wrote:I don't use an recording led, but is this program really needed? Re: ArgusLED (was ForTheLED)
I use it, or at least I use the 4tr version. It works well for me, other than at startup - it crashes with a .NET unhandled exception error:
Code: Select all
Application: ForTheLED.exe
Framework Version: v4.0.30319
Description: The process was terminated due to an unhandled exception.
Exception Info: System.IO.FileNotFoundException
Stack:
at ForTheLED.Form1..ctor()
at ForTheLED.Program.Main()
Re: ArgusLED (was ForTheLED)
I'm trying to use this (version 1.1.4702.36370) with the Argus TV release candidate version but it won't connect. I can manually refresh the disk and recordings and that will then update and change the LED status, though. Is this simply a matter of the ArgusLED code being updated for the new version? If so is this planned when version 2.1 is released?

Hi. Yes I noted it had stopped working a while back on my PC too. I didn't think anyone else used it, so I am pleased to hear there is actually a second user! I'll get it fixed one evening this week, and post an updated version here when done.

Re: ArgusLED (was ForTheLED)
Last night I updated ArgusLED. Please find it attached. This was compiled using libraries from the latest official Argus release, and was tested tested on my HTPC with the latest Argus RC (as I've not installed latest official version on there yet), and is working OK for me.
Please let me know if you have any problems
