First I like to say, that I love the app. But I notice every time when I need to select a channel, I swipe over or before the channel I need. That is because it stops every time to load the epg, that doesn’t make it feel very smooth. I was thinking is it not an idea to make the channels static? A page with channels and when you click a channel the epg will be loaded. I think that gives a better user experience.

I had that behavior before...but the bigger issue is that the whole epg browser is not very well designed...maybe an option for that would be good...
I will put this on my todo list and hopefully I will find some time to implement this

I'm currently working on an all new version (most parts will be rewritten because (frankly) the old app is a mess ).
It will support tablets, watching live tv/recordings (over rtsp with 3rd party apps like MoboPlayer).
This will take a long time as I'm now doing my internship and then write my bachelor thesis.
I hope I can finish a first version by the end of the year.

I just started to use your app. Being an IT-technician, I have a question regarding security.

If I do not choose SSL, meaning I use port 49943, and forward this port on my router, will that in theory let everybody access my TV-server without credentials? I didn't need to punch in my server core password at all, even though a password was set during installation of FTR.

BUT if I set it to 49941 (SSL), and only forward this port, any outsider would need the credentials to log in (of course internally I can still use 49943 if I like).

Am I right?

Maybe Steph or Dot-i have some answers here, as it's mostly directed to how FTR works?

So generally, yes: it's a really, really bad idea to open up your HTTP port to the outside world. You could even argue that Hameno should consider removing support for HTTP in his app, and stick with HTTPS.

Of course, there are not many users looking for ways to access this port. But I do agree - SSL and 49941 is the only way one should connect.

Btw - I really like this app! I have an Android tablet for XBMC remote, Spotimote + FTRm. It's just great!
