About

The Electronic Program Guide is one of core elements of the ARGUS TV. It displays all current Electronic Program Guide data that has been sucessfully imported into ARGUS TV either directly grabbed from the Broadcast stream or alternatively imported via suitable EPG graber, see ICN WIKI INLINE.PNG EPG Grabbers for more information.

Assuming that channels, tuner cards and guide channels have been correctly installed, the Electronic Programme Guide gives users an complete overview of avaiable schedules with a seperate view for either Television or Radio. In addition if Channels groups have been configured (see under ARGUS TV Scheduler Console>Channel Administration>Channel Groups) different view of favourite groups of channels can be accessed, ie for HD, Sport, Current Affairs etc. If the user simply right clicks a programme the available record options will be presented. Once a record option has been selected it will guide the user to a form to finish scheduling the desired programme recording. Once completed a schedule recording will appear in the Electronic Program Guide with an appropriate icon indicating the status of the scheduled recording (i.e one off recording, repeat recording or a conflict status) see ICN WIKI INLINE.PNG Recordings, Suggestions & Alerts.

The Electronic Programme Guide allows users to:

  • Browse the guide to see what's coming up, or to remember the name of that program you like.
  • See what Recordings, Suggestions and Alerts are coming up. You'll also be able to see any recording conflicts and which recordings have been cancelled as a result.
  • You can schedule, or cancel scheduled recordings
  • You can even use it for basic troubleshooting tasks, like checking guide data is correct, and seeing if logos are displaying for channels.
