Hardware Requirements

HDD

The size of the hard disk needed depends a lot on the type of content you receive, and your usage. SDTV may only use a few hundred MB/hour, while HDTV content can use as much as 8GB/hour. Generally speaking, a Hard disk of around 500GB to 1TB should be sufficient for general usage.

Tuners

As stated in the ICN WIKI INLINE.PNG Initial Considerations page, there are several signal types you may be able to receive. The tuner card you use must match the signal type you receive.

Once you know which signal type/s you want to receive, visit ICN WIKI INLINE.PNG Supported Cards page for a list of cards which are known to work.

Network

A good Network is very important for streaming content. While speed is an important factor, stability is critical. A poor quality network connection will produce glitches and stutter in streamed content, making it practically unwatchable.

  • Fast Ethernet (100 Mbit): is generally sufficient.
  • Gigabit Ethernet (1000Mbit): is a good choice.
  • WIFI: is not recommended as it is prone to interference and slow compared to a wired connection.

ICN INFO.PNG Important:
Due to the way ARGUS TV works, if you have a singleseat system, and don't have a network connection, you will likely need to install the Microsoft loopback adapter.
